He serves as the Senior Pastor of RCCG Living Faith Sunderland, where he provides spiritual and pastoral leadership to a growing and vibrant Christian community committed to feeding the spirit, soul, and body of the church and the wider community.

Pastor Peter’s ministry is built upon a deep love for God, a commitment to the authority of Scripture, prayer, evangelism, discipleship, leadership development, family, and practical Christian service.

A Life of Pastoral Preparation and Ministry

Pastor Dr Peter Asuata has invested significantly in his spiritual and pastoral development. His ministry formation includes the completion of pastoral training and ministerial development programmes within the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), equipping him in biblical ministry, pastoral leadership, church administration, evangelism, discipleship, spiritual leadership, and Christian service.

He has also completed pastoral and ministerial training through Living Faith Church (Winners’ Chapel), further strengthening his understanding and practice of Christian leadership, faith, church growth, evangelism, discipleship, leadership development, and ministry.

Having undertaken pastoral training within both RCCG and Living Faith Church (Winners’ Chapel), Pastor Peter has benefited from two significant streams of Pentecostal ministry training and experience. These experiences have contributed to the development of his approach to preaching, pastoral care, leadership, faith, church administration, evangelism, and community transformation.

His pastoral preparation complements his formal academic education and practical leadership experience, giving him a multidisciplinary approach to ministry that combines biblical understanding, theological reflection, leadership principles, academic knowledge, practical experience, and a heart for people.

Academic and Professional Excellence

Beyond pastoral ministry, Pastor Dr Peter Asuata is an accomplished academic and business professional. He holds a PhD in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), together with other academic and professional qualifications including MA, BSc, FHEA and CMBE.

He is a Lecturer in Business Management at the University of Sunderland, where he contributes to teaching, academic leadership, curriculum development, research, student supervision, and the development of future business leaders. He has served in academic leadership capacities, including module leadership and programme leadership within the University’s online MBA provision, and has extensive experience in teaching, research, supervision, curriculum development, organisational leadership, and professional development.

His academic and research interests include corporate social responsibility, leadership, organisational change, sustainability, business resilience, entrepreneurship, business management, and the relationship between organisations and society.

Called to Build People

At the heart of Pastor Peter’s ministry is a strong conviction that people matter to God and that every person has a God-given purpose. He believes the Church should not only proclaim the Gospel but demonstrate the love of Christ through practical action. This conviction has shaped his pastoral leadership and community engagement.

Under his leadership, RCCG Living Faith Sunderland has continued to develop a culture of prayer, biblical teaching, evangelism, discipleship, family support, community engagement, and practical care. The church’s community-focused initiatives include practical support for individuals and families, food distribution, outreach, evangelism, discipleship, and programmes designed to meet both spiritual and practical needs.

Pastor Peter is passionate about building people, strengthening families, raising leaders, empowering young people, supporting communities, and helping individuals discover and fulfil their God-given purpose.

Author and Teacher

Pastor Dr Peter is also an accomplished author with a particular passion for relationships, marriage, family, personal development, faith, and navigating life’s difficult seasons. His published works include The Father’s Love, Before You Say I Do, After You Say I Do, How Did We Get Here?, Where Do I Go From Here?, Finding Love Again, Sex and Intimacy in Marriage, Finance in Marriage, and Divorce Is Not The End. Through his books, preaching, teaching, and pastoral ministry, he seeks to communicate biblical truth in ways that are practical, relevant, accessible, and transformative.

Leadership Beyond the Church

Pastor Peter’s leadership experience extends beyond the pulpit. He has been involved in business management, entrepreneurship, property and housing, care services, organisational leadership, and community-focused initiatives. These experiences have given him a broad understanding of leadership, management, people development, organisational responsibility, entrepreneurship, and service. He believes that Christian leadership should be characterised by integrity, accountability, humility, excellence, responsibility, compassion, and service.

His Vision for RCCG Living Faith Sunderland

Pastor Dr Peter’s vision for RCCG Living Faith Sunderland is to build a church that is deeply rooted in Christ and actively engaged with its community. He desires to see the church become a house of prayer; a centre of biblical teaching; a place of salvation and transformation; a family where people belong; a training ground where believers become disciples and leaders; a place where broken lives are restored; a community that demonstrates the love of Christ; and a launching pad for people to fulfil their God-given purpose.

A Servant Before a Title

Despite his academic, professional, entrepreneurial, and pastoral accomplishments, Pastor Dr Peter considers his greatest calling to be serving God and serving people. For him, titles and qualifications are tools for service rather than measures of personal importance. His desire is to remain faithful to God’s call, preach Jesus Christ, raise disciples, strengthen families, develop leaders, serve the community, and leave a lasting Kingdom legacy.

His ministry is anchored in the words of Jesus: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33

Family

Pastor Dr Peter is a devoted husband and father. He considers his family, faith, ministry, service, and legacy among the greatest responsibilities entrusted to him by God. Together with his family, he continues to serve the vision of RCCG Living Faith Sunderland, believing that transformed individuals build transformed families, transformed families strengthen the Church, and a strengthened Church can become a powerful blessing to its community and the world.
